Assessment Delivery Co-ordinators

The GMC helps to protect patients and improve medical education and practice in the UK by setting standards for students and doctors. We support them in achieving (and exceeding) those standards and take action when they are not met.

The General Medical Council (GMC) currently has opportunities available for 5 talented Assessment Coordinators within our Assessment Delivery team. In this role at the GMC, you’ll enjoy plenty of variety in working with doctors and health professionals and make a positive impact protecting patients.

Summary of the role

The Assessment Delivery Team run PLAB exams, Fitness to Practise and Revalidation assessments and other events in our purpose-built assessment centres.

Assessment Delivery Coordinators ensure the smooth running of all events in the GMC’s Clinical Assessment Centre (CAC). This involves:

- Dealing with escalations, managing systems, quality assurance of exam processes
- Supporting visitors to the centre and liaising with key stakeholders
- Managing, overseeing and contribute to the delivery of onsite activities hosted in our Manchester Clinical Assessment Centre, including delivery of PLAB exams
- Acting as duty managers during assessments to ensure the objectives of each examination/event are met
- Monitoring and conduct quality checks to ensure work is completed to the required standards
