We are looking for a highly motivated and creative Head Baker to lead our bake team and oversee all aspects of bakery operations. The position is salaried for 35 hours over a 4 day working week.

As well as being a key part of daily bread production, the Head Baker responsibilities will include:

- managing recipes & processes throughout the year to maintain high quality produce; effective use of our bakery software (Cybake) to track client orders and adhere to budgets; meeting production targets; managing and motivating the staff team; leading recruitment; writing staff rotas; stock control; new product development; and adhering to EHO requirements. You will be expected to manage your own time to achieve these goals.

We are a bread bakery - there is no pastry production involved in the role. We do occasionally work with sweet doughs, but this is not currently part of our daily production.

The role may involve early starts (earliest start being 3am), weekend work and bank holiday work. Lots of free bread, staff pizzas, tea and coffee

Established in 2020, Plattsville Bakehouse is a wholesale artisan bread bakery in South Liverpool baking for independent restaurants, cafes and shops across the city. We have a strong focus on environmental impact and so our goal here is to bake great bread without costing the Earth. We work with high quality organic and regeneratively farmed flours, and the bakery runs on 100% renewable energy. We are also an accredited living wage employer, committed to paying our staff a fair wage.

We bake a lot of sourdough bread, but also work with a range of long ferment yeasted breads and very occasionally a small selection of sweet bakes.

The bakery is a fun, creative and challenging place to work where no two days are the same. The atmosphere is relaxed and informal, however we do work very hard and attention to detail is absolutely paramount. Our clients expect consistent, high quality breads EVERY DAY
