Are you a good listener? Are you compassionate and caring and able to support people who are socially isolated?

We are looking for volunteers for our Emotional Support project. Through the Emotional Support project, we provide weekly support to our service users on the telephone. All volunteers will be fully trained and supported.

**Key Responsibilities are to**:
Provide emotional support to people with sight loss or their carer whilst they face any psychological challenging situation over the telephone

Listen to concerns of service user

Signpost and refer them to further support as needed

Maintain and update database to keep clear record of work

Report to Wellbeing Service Manager

**Essential Skills required**:

- Excellent listening skills, some experience/knowledge in mental health
- Good level of written and oral communication skills.
- Good planning and organisational skills
- Able to work independently and as an integral part of a team
