**About the role**

Day-to-day, a Customer Services Officer (CSO) has an interesting and varied role, resolving enquiries across a broad spectrum of services such as Highways, Waste and Recycling, Environmental Health, Housing, Blue Badges, Schools Admissions and Elections to name a few, so being able to multi-task and gain knowledge on several different services is a must for this role.

CSOs take responsibility for the customer’s enquiry and unpick sometimes complex enquiries by using intelligent questioning and negotiation skills to get to the root of the issue. They also use different IT systems including our own CRM call logging system to resolve queries. Therefore, you will need to have excellent interpersonal, communication and IT skills to be successful in this role.

Once training is completed we offer a mix of office and home-working, as CSOs are required to cover the Reception desk as necessary.

**About you**

You will be Educated to A-Level standard (or relevant equivalent) and/or have experience in a customer-facing role.

We will look to you to be able to work independently, using your own initiative but also be a good team-player.

Confident in using a range of different IT systems as well as having knowledge of Microsoft packages and social media.

Able to handle difficult queries and situations calmly with understanding and patience.
