Applications are invited for the post of Senior Oncoplastic Breast Surgery (Clinical) Fellow post, which will run from 5th Aug’24 until 31 st July’25.

The Breast surgery team offer a full range of breast diagnostic and oncological surgeries; we offer complex breast conservation with multi-site resections, mammoplasty and local perforator flaps. Whole-breast reconstruction with implant (pre
- & sub-pec) and LD-flaps are offered for both therapeutic and Risk-Reducing case.

We offer therapeutic breast surgery to both symptomatic and screening diagnosed patients within Liverpool and the wider Merseyside area. At present we diagnose and treat approximately 900 cancer per year.

The Breast surgery team work closely with the endocrine surgery team and provide cross-cover on occasions, mainly for peri-operative ward care. The units have strong links to the breast radiology team, Plastic Surgery service in the region, the pathology department and Clatterbridge Centre for Oncology.

There is no on-call component to this post, however managing breast complications/emergencies, within standard hours, will be required on occasions

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was created on 1 October 2019 following the merger of two adult acute Trusts, Aintree University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust.

NHS funded cosmetic surgery for asymmetry, macromastia and gynaecomastia are delivered when funding is secured. We offer therapeutic breast surgery to both symptomatic and screening diagnosed patients within Liverpool and the wider Merseyside area. At present we diagnose and treat approximately 900 cancer per year.
