**Job Title: Pensions Regulation Officer**
**Location: Brighton (once a week onsite)**
**Role: Permanent**

**Your role**:

- As a Pensions Regulation Officer (Specialist grade), you’ll be at the heart of our relationship supervision team, which covers a wide range of scheme types, including defined benefit, defined contribution, public service, CDC, superfunds, and master trusts.
- Your role will be to get to know the schemes in your portfolio and to identify risks and ways they can improve.
- Things you can expect to be involved in daily include:

- Systematically reviewing key areas of the schemes in your portfolio as well as responding to events as they occur - carrying out an initial assessment and summarising them with a view to how client should react.
- Working with advisers to engage with the key people at a scheme, which might include attending evaluation meetings, reviewing scheme documentation or observing board meetings.
- Making recommendations and following up on assessments or action plans to improve regulatory outcomes for the scheme within agreed timescales.
- To be successful at this role you’ll need to be able to build relationships, assess risk, ask for and share complex information.

**Your responsibilities include**:

- Building strong collaborative relationships with schemes as a dedicated point of contact
- Making informed decisions about the approach taken in influencing scheme behaviors
- Developing timely, efficient, and effective strategies
- Managing your own time and available resources to achieve positive outcomes
- Collaborative working with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
- Using your knowledge and experience to set the tone of discussions, influencing high profile internal and external Boards and steering groups
- Innovating and driving change, as well as getting involved with continuous improvement, projects and training
- Carrying out assessments to consider investigative activity with our Enforcement Team as required

**Essential**:

- Experience of working effectively independently and in a team while managing a portfolio of casework (or equivalent)
- Sufficient experience of working in a financial/banking/regulatory/legal/pensions environment
- Critical thinking skills and an ability to evaluate information to reach a decision
- Excellent communication skills for managing stakeholders and building relationships

**Desirable**:

- Experience of working within project management and/or the development processes
- A broad knowledge of the pensions market and underlying financial arrangements
