**Role**:
Are you looking for your next career move? Pensions and the work of TPR are rarely out of the spotlight and so the work we do is often the focus of a wide range of parliamentarians.

We’re looking for a Parliamentary Affairs Officer to support the delivery of TPR’s public affairs strategy, by communicating the importance of our work to our political audiences.

**Responsibilities**:
You will:

- support the delivery of TPR’s Parliamentary Affairs work as part of the Communications strategy
- monitor UK wide parliamentary activity on workplace pensions and draft a weekly parliamentary update for key internal stakeholders
- draft high-quality briefings for senior colleagues for meetings and other engagements, including select committee hearings
- play a key role in delivery and monitoring of TPR’s Parliamentary Engagement Plan
- arrange and attend parliamentary meetings and events, including TPR-led peers and MP briefings
- draft responses to MP correspondence, Parliamentary Questions, MP briefings and other relevant management documents and queries
- maintain accurate records of TPR’s key political stakeholders; monitor debates and the views of Parliamentarians on matters relevant to TPR
- produce a regular TPR update (monthly) for MPs and Peers to include key announcements, press releases, consultations etc
- deputise for the Parliamentary Affairs Manager when needed and take personal responsibility for personal development in line with TPR’s values and objectives

**Essential and desirable criteria**:
**Essential**:

- Excellent writing skills to draft briefings and respond to correspondence, including from MPs, across a range of workplace pension issues.
- A strong knowledge of how Parliament works and an interest in current affairs is essential.
- The ability to deal with MP and Lords offices to set up meetings for TPR Directors and write briefings for Parliamentary meetings.
- Ability to gather information across TPR for responses to urgent parliamentary questions.
- Experience of working to tight deadlines and the ability to work through a detailed sign off process.

**Desirable**:

- Experience of working with Parliament is desirable
