We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented BMS Engineer and Software Tester Apprentice to join our team.

**The Role**: You will work closely with senior team members to assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of various BMS projects. This role offers a valuable opportunity for individuals looking to gain practical experience in project management and engineering tasks, with a focus on Building Management Systems. Also, performing manual tests and creating software test harnesses in a variety of software environments.

**Responsibilities**:

- Project Coordination:_
- Assist in the coordination of project activities, including scheduling meetings, preparing project documentation, and organizing project resources.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of project milestones and deliverables.
- Site Work and Inspections:_
- Conduct onsite inspections to assess BMS installations and system functionality.
- Assist with installation activities, working alongside senior engineers to ensure project requirements are met.
- Data Management:_
- Support in the collection, organization, and analysis of data related to project performance and functionality.
- Assist in maintaining accurate project records and documentation.
- Design and configurations_
- Create project diagrams on software packages such are CAD
- Configure and upgrade equipment
- Technical Support:_
- Provide basic technical support to internal and external stakeholders on BMS-related issues.
- Assist in troubleshooting problems and escalating issues as necessary.
- Ordering Stock and Invoicing Clients:_
- Assist in managing stock inventory by ordering necessary supplies and materials for BMS projects.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and stock availability.
- Support in invoicing clients for completed BMS projects and tracking payment statuses.
- Software Testing:_
- Perform manual testing to ensure the functionality, performance, and reliability of BMS software.
- Create and maintain software test harnesses in various software environments to automate testing processes.
- Develop, document, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
- Identify, document, and track software defects and inconsistencies, and collaborate with the development team to resolve them.
- Conduct regression testing to ensure that existing functionality is not adversely affected by new developments or fixes.
- Participate in software design reviews and provide feedback from a testing perspective.
- Research and Development:_
- Conduct research on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices relevant to BMS projects.
- Assist in the development of innovative solutions to enhance BMS capabilities and performance.

**Qualifications**:

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
- Enthusiasm for learning and willingness to take on new challenges.
- Willingness to travel onsite approximately 30% of the time.

**Training**

Training is provided for the role.

**Location**: This position will be located at our Sawston, Cambridge office with onsite travel as required.
