Bradford Literature Festival is an annual arts event and year-round cultural outreach programme that hosts renowned authors, poets, speakers, musicians and artists from Bradford, the UK and around the world. Founded in 2014, BLF is a key event in the UK cultural calendar and the most diverse literature festival in the country.

A young festival, BLF has grown rapidly in size and popularity. The festival takes place annually over 10-days at the end of June and the start of July, with a programme of over 700+ events stretching from the heart of the city and across the district. BLF’s signature mix of topic-led events, which include author talks, world-class poetry line-ups, live music, film, theatre and more, attract more than 70,000 people to Bradford each year.

Bradford Literature Festival is looking for a highly organised person with strong administrative skills whose motivations are towards working within a more creative, fast-paced environment with increased variety and different day to day duties.

**Main Responsibilities will include (though not be limited to)**

Provide a comprehensive and fully confidential secretarial and executive assistance service to the CEO.

1. Diary management:

- Regularly review the CEOs diary and prompt for meetings, appointments and events;
- Arrange and organise meetings as required with internal and external parties;
- Develop relationships with diary managers of Board members and stakeholders;
2. Board Administrative Support:

- Ensure Board papers are prepared ahead of meetings;
- Arrange venues for in person meetings and minute Board and Committee meetings;
- Coordinate booking of conferences, events and dinners;
3. Domestic and international travel and accommodation bookings;
5. Manage the CEOs business expenses;
6. Draft correspondence, presentations and reports;
7. Personal administration and appointment booking.
- **Other responsibilities**

1. Provide cover for the Office Manager during periods of absence/annual leave;
2. Other tasks as may be reasonably required, relating to Festival activity.

**Personal Specifications**

**Essential**
- Extensive experience of working at board level;
- Experience of minute / note taking;
- Ability to work without supervision, managing and prioritising own workload with a proactive approach to ensure support for the needs of the CEO are anticipated, prepared and provided in a timely fashion;
- Ability to prioritise and work well under pressure in a busy environment;
- Efficient organisation skills, with a very high degree of accuracy and an ability to prioritise an often conflicting workload in a busy environment;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise effectively at all levels internally and externally;
- Ability to demonstrate a high level of professionalism, confidentiality and discretion at all times;
- A team player - willing to provide cover and support as necessary and actively contribute to the team. Flexibility and adaptability are crucial;
- Intermediate to advanced IT skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

**Desirable**
- Experience of working with CRM systems/Trello/Google Docs;
- Driving license and own vehicle.

**Salary**: From £35,000.00 per year
