**Role Length: 37 Monday - Friday, normal working hours**

**Minute taking skills and experience are essential for this role** The purpose of the Project Officer role is to provide project support to one or several projects. Working closely with colleagues across the department to help plan, administer and mobilise projects and initiatives. Key responsibilities:

- Provide support to project management activities.
- Administer logistics, including arranging security access, on-boarding, appropriating desks, ensuring connectivity, booking meeting rooms and monitoring project team holiday and availability.
- Take minutes of meetings and ensure all decisions are appropriately recorded and actioned.
- Monitor project scope against baseline.
- Maintain the project plan, including the overall timeline, milestones and dependencies.
- Manage the project’s risks, issues and assumptions logs.
- Administer project issues and ensure that they are ultimately, resolved.
- Provide consistent and accurate progress, risks and issues reporting to project management.
- Communication with schools, internal teams and stakeholders relating to projects when required.
- Act as a point of contact for members of the CEF directorate leadership team in relation to all of the above.
- Scope and plan stakeholder meetings related to projects as and when required.

**Qualifications**:

- Project management qualifications (e.g. Prince2, APMP) desirable.

**Experience & Knowledge**:

- Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
- Knowledge of Local Authorities and its administrative processes.

**Skills**:

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Well organised with the aptitude and ability to support project planning with an understanding of the concepts of scope, risks, issues and assumptions.
- Minute taking skills and experience.
- Good time management and organisation skills.
- Strong IT skills using Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
