**Job summary**:
The Strategy, Performance and Change Directorate is undergoing significant change and this role will require the Knowledge Management Officer to play an active role in supporting and promoting collective learning and sharing of knowledge within DBS, and ensuring this knowledge informs the development of DBS corporate policies, procedures and guidance.

The post holder will ensure that we have the right information stored in the right place for the right amount of time, and that it is available to be routinely shared and exploited by the DBS for business needs. The assurance work enables the department to understand, manage and mitigate the risks associated with its information and inform and improve knowledge management behaviours across the DBS.

The post holder will support the Knowledge Manager in delivering recommendations for improvement, as well as supporting the delivery of the knowledge management strategy plan.

**Job description**:
The post holder will be responsible for:

- Work with colleagues in Organisational Knowledge Management and other business areas to support the SEO Knowledge Manager in ensure a joined-up approach knowledge management that delivers DBS objectives.
- Contribute to the preparation and delivery of reports within Organisational Knowledge Management to prepare and deliver reports.
- Working with colleagues in Organisational Knowledge Management to help support the delivery of a programme to drive, embed and support a culture of good knowledge management behaviours allowing for capability and compliance to be built.
- Support the draft, review and update of generic knowledge management policy and guidance that meets the needs of staff across the organisation, and helps deliver the DBS objectives through better management and exploitation of knowledge and information, regardless of whether it is held within the corporate memory of teams or within their records/documents.
- Support the Knowledge Management Adviser to provide knowledge management advice and guidance across the Department and be responsible for the shared in-box.
- Work with colleagues in Organisational Knowledge Management to ensure that a strong link is established and maintained between knowledge management and the DBS Academy.
- Support the Knowledge Manager in the knowledge management in life model; content approval processes, feedback management, technical support, insights from system data to drive improvements.
- Provide timely and efficient administration for meetings including, organising meetings, creation of agendas, collation of all relevant updates/briefing materials, papers, distribution of papers, record accurate minutes and circulation of minutes etc.
- Undertake ad-hoc Departmental administration activities.

Ability
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Excellent time management, and prioritising skills with the ability to work calm under pressure to meet deadlines.

Experience
- Experience of adapting to changing priorities and being able to work flexibly.
- Experience of co-ordination and organising others.
- Demonstrable experience of delivering a high standard of customer service.

Technical

Ability
- A collaborative approach to working with a range of colleagues across a business and using them to support organisational objectives.

Experience
- Experience in a previous knowledge management or organisational policy development role in a public sector organisation.

Technical
- A good working knowledge of SharePoint.
