Social Work Lead

Partnerships for Progress (PfP) is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for experienced Lead Social Worker to join our Team on a full time basis.
Tŷ Seren is a Residential Family Centre based in Bridgend, South Wales, supporting up to 11 families (with babies up to the age of 2) at any one time, where there are concerns in respect of a parent’s ability to care for their child. Placements are typically for 14 weeks and include a Parenting Programme and Parenting Assessment (undertaken by our resident social workers).

Salary range of £42.5-48k per year depending on experience, and whether you are also a social worker.
Full-time hours are a 40 hour working week (in addition to being on-call outside of normal working hours on an agreed rota basis with other members of the MDT, for which a disruption allowance of £153 p/w is paid).
**Role requirements include**:
- To have at least 2 years’ experience in a leadership/management role within a care home or residential family centre.
- Relevant qualification needed to register with Social Care Wales as Registered Manager of a Residential Family Centre (see Social Care Wales website for further details).
- At least 2 years' experience in a role managing social workers.
- Must be registered with Social Care Wales prior to commencing employment and have a sound understanding of the code of professional practice.
- Experience of quality assuring and overseeing parenting assessments and making evidence-based recommendations which promotes each child’s safety and wellbeing.
- Ability to work independently and use own initiative..
- Able to maintain professional judgement, and sustain performance and delivery when working under pressure.
- Proficient with IT including working experience of Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel & Outlook).
- Ability to drive for day to day working purposes (with a current driving licence).
- Demonstrable understanding of issues regarding confidentiality and the disclosure of personal information.
- Ability to work flexibly within the working week Monday to Friday, but also during weekends / evenings occasionally.
- Experience of working with children and families in need of care and support.
- Experience of attending, and giving evidence in, court.
- Excellent report writing skills, including good levels of literacy and numeracy skills.
- Ability to type proficiently and accurately.
- Trained in CUBAS parenting assessments (Desirable)
