This post is a key senior HCPH leadership role in the regional NHSEI healthcare public health team, reporting to the Regional Deputy Director of the Healthcare Public Health team. The role will focus on population health expertise on NHS Long term prevention, health inequalities, quality improvement of health and care services across the East of England region while supporting the development of ICS from a population health paradigm.

The Consultant in Healthcare Public Health will oversee, coordinate, and deliver high-quality professional PH input, support, and advice to NHS England and stakeholders at the regional and system level to drive improvements in outcomes and reduce health inequalities across the population in a cost-effective way and prioritises prevention. Alongside colleagues in the team, they will be responsible for contributing to or leading the following:

- the overall strategy for improving population health at a regional level
- Using and interpreting data to assess the quality of services, unwarranted variation, inequalities and population health
- Ensuring that services are developed and delivered based on best practice and evidence, incorporating a population perspective to provide a technical evidence base for setting priorities.
- Quality and efficiency of public health programmes, including regional implementation of national workstreams on NHS LTP prevention priorities across primary, secondary and tertiary health services and care

You will identify future challenges to the public health and wellbeing and act as a professional advisor for NHSE/I on all matters related to HealthCare Public Health, working effectively across directorates, teams and disciplines in supporting the NHSE/I local offices.
