Fulbourn, United Kingdom NHS England Full time

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of the East of England region’s Virtual Imaging Academy.

The role of Sub-Speciality Training Lead is to work with and support the Academy Development Lead, the Postgraduate Dean and NHS E (WT & E) in leading the delivery of the Diagnostic Academy structure and operating model.

The post holder will promote and strengthen the practice of lifelong learning along the professional development continuum from qualification to retirement.

The vision for Training Academies is that they will provide multi-professional environments where training and education of the future workforce is the primary focus, maximising the expertise of experienced educators and supervisors across a broad patch. The overall aim is to increase the number of learners transitioning to the workforce utilising the academy model to increase training capacity, to provide a high quality and enhanced training experience and to accelerate learning to independent practice.

You will be committed to the development of the current and future imaging workforce and demonstrate strategic thinking and innovative problem solving when approaching the complex challenge of delivering multi-professional education. This will need to be done in partnership with colleagues from the NHS E East of England Diagnostics team, particularly their Clinical and Transformational Imaging Leads.

The post is professionally and managerially accountable to the East of England Regional Postgraduate Dean.

Optimising the use of digital technology, research, and innovation

Delivering value for money.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.

To work on behalf of NHS E, providing expert advice on specialty-specific matters.

To work locally with key groups and stakeholders, to attend and host events across the regions, to develop key liaisons and to ensure effective local engagement and responsiveness in line with the culture of NHS E.

To work with providers and others to support and capture innovation locally and ensure national and local conversations develop ‘best practice’.

To support the use of clinical skills training and simulation (where appropriate/applicable), stressing the importance of teamwork and human factors.
