**Pay rate:£19 per hour PAYE**
**The post-holder will be required to undertake remote interventions and carry out food hygiene inspections according to risk and in accordance with statutory requirements, national guidance, Council policy and service delivery plans.** Key responsibilities:
- Accurately record all details of all visits and action taken
- Undertake inspections of premises to ensure compliance with the legal requirements in accordance with National standards and local Council and Departmental policy.
- Investigate relevant service requests in accordance with Divisional procedures and ensure that remedial action is undertaken.
- Provide advice on food safety and policy to Councillors, responsible authorities, businesses and their agents and residents.
- Prepare and sign licences/ registrations, correspondence and statutory notices within delegated responsibilities or pass to the Food Safety Manager / Head of Service for signature.
- Work closely with all internal and external partners to ensure food safety compliance
- Prepare cases for legal proceedings in consultation with the Food Safety Manager/ Head of Service and Legal Team.
- Undertake relevant promotional work and talks to residents and organisations as required.
- Maintain a high level of knowledge in relevant specialist areas and to undertake further training as required.

- CPD certificates and certificates of registration with EHORB/EHRB.
- Previous experience of working within a council, ideally in the last few years.
- Must meet the requirements of the Food Standard’s Agency’s Code of Practice to undertake food hygiene official controls and interventions.
- Must be able to prove food competency with over 20 hours of CPD
- Must have completed a Food Hygiene inspection for a Local Authority in the last 6 months.

- Effective communication skills
- Ability to negotiate in a broad range of often complex and difficult scenarios
- Good organisational skills and able to work on own initiative.
- A flexible team player, able to work at pace with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise and multitask
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
