**About Learning to Work**
**Learning to Work** is a Slough based youth development charity. Our aim is to support students to prepare for the world of work. We create high impact activities with local employers to inspire young people, educate them about opportunities and give them the skills they need to be successful in the workplace.
**About the role**
As part of this role, you will undertake a Career Development Professional apprenticeship that will lead to a Level 6 Diploma in Career Guidance and Development. This role will provide front line 1-2-1 and group careers guidance to young people aged 11 to 18 years to inspire, motivate and raise aspirations.
**Responsibilities**
- Conduct initial 1-2-1 Careers Guidance interviews with young people in a variety of schools.
- Create Individual Action Plans to help young people map their next steps.
- Conduct follow up 1-2-1 Careers Guidance interviews with young people to provide additional support where needed.
- Deliver Careers Guidance presentations and workshops as part of our School Events.
- Keep accurate records of all interactions with young people.
- Liaise with teachers and school staff as required.
- Adhere to LTW good practice guidelines to ensure our Matrix accreditation is upheld.
- Ensure Safeguarding & Child Protection standards are followed at all times.
**Location & commitments**
- Permanent Contract
- Salary: Starting from £24,205 per annum depending on experience.
- Full time: 35 hours per week
- Hours: 8.30am to 4.30pm, with 1-hour unpaid lunch break. Term-time only would be considered.
- Location: Office base in Slough. Flexible Working Policy in place.
- A full and clean driving licence and the daily use of a car is essential to travel to various schools/locations in and around the Berkshire/Buckinghamshire/ West London and surrounding areas.
- Experience of working with young people aged 11-18 years.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt your style according to the situation. This role will require you to communicate in many different ways, both in writing and in person.
- Ability to confidently use virtual communication platforms such as Zoom and MS Teams.
- Good IT skills and experience working with databases.
- Up to date knowledge of the secondary education system
- A full and clean driving licence and the daily use of a car.
