**Role**:
Cyber Crime is a priority for the City of London Police and at the forefront of tackling this threat is its Cyber Crime Unit, based at New Street (and due to move to Salisbury Square in 2027). The unit has grown in strength year after year and is now looking for a Detective Constable to join its investigation team. The successful applicant will perform the role of case officer for reported cyber crimes, as well as forming part of a larger enquiry team for cyber operations and large investigations, both proactive and reactive.
We will commit to developing successful applicants and as a result of the significant investment that will be made, there will be expected to remain within the unit for a minimum of two years.
The following skills and abilities are required for the role:
**Essential Criteria**
- Must be a police officer outside of their probationary period
- A qualified Detective Constable
- Good problem solving skills with the ability to work under pressure
- Self-motivated, proactive with the ability to learn quickly
**Desirable Criteria**
- Previous investigative experience in this field
- Evidence of having a proactive approach to policing
- Experience in serious and complex case work
- Advanced/standard response driver
- Working knowledge of HOLMES
- Technical skills including digital forensics, internet investigations, computer science, programming, network investigation etc
**The successful applicant will be required to undertake MV/SC vetting**
The criteria for the interview process will be structured around the Competencies Value Framework (CVF) Level 1.
