The challenges of policing the Square Mile are unique. The City of London is the world’s leading international financial and business centre.
The City of London Police is currently looking for a Digital Forensic Investigator to join our Digital Forensic Team.
Sitting within the Crime Directorate Forensic Services, the Digital Forensic Team is a vital resource for the City of London Police. In order to better meet future and current resilience needs, an opportunity has arisen for either an experienced/qualified Digital Forensic Officer or a serving officer with a dire to undertake digital forensic investigations to ensure that we can continually provide an efficient and effective service in this specific technical and growing area.
You will utilise your training and skills to assist in the field of forensic computing and network investigation to Industry Standards in police led investigations including on-site analysis. Where applicable, additional training will be a provided through a combination of in-house training and industry qualifications.
In return, you will be called upon to assist the team with day-to-day duties as well as working as part of the team with more serious investigations. You may also be called upon to assist in the execution of warrants where computers or digital media may be recovered. It should be pointed out that on occasion, images of an indecent and abusive nature could be viewed as part of an intrusive viewing of a computer files and memory or in relation to offences of child abuse or indecent imagery etc. Occupational Mental health screening is a requirement of the role.
The role will be to identify and recover forensic evidence from a wide range of digital and electronic media and to offer guidance and advice where possible.
Security Clearance SC Vetting is a requirement of the role.
**Knowledge**
Knowledge relating to the search and seizure of computer equipment in Police investigations.
IT skills are essential.
Knowledge of the ACPO Good Practice Guide For Computer-Based Electronic Evidence is essential.
**Experience**
Presenting Evidence at court.
Execution of Warrants.
Search and seizure of computer equipment in Police investigations.
Application of Forensic Software products such as Axiom, Encase, FTK, Digital Inspector/Digital Collector, Cellebrite, Graykey and Intella Pro
