16 -24 hrs per week, based in both Hope House, Beeston (NG9 2RF) and our Carlton Community Hub (NG4 1EE).

Hours to be agreed as per needs of our projects, so must be flexible across the week to suit needs of the developing communities (including at least one -two evenings a month to support community meals and Saturday support as necessary in Carlton) with ability to travel around Nottingham to promote our work as necessary.

£23,058 p.a pro rata £11.82 per hour

**Hope Nottingham is aware of the devastating impact that loneliness and social isolation has on the lives of local people and is committed to providing opportunities for friendship and community connection. we aim to provide on-site social activities to connect people, in keeping with our vision to inspire and grow communities of Hope.**

**We aim to signpost to various local services, but also provide on-site social activities at both our Carlton and Beeston hubs to connect local people, in keeping with our vision to inspire and grow communities of Hope. Through these activities, we aim to empower both the guests and volunteer helpers to create a sustainable and supportive environment.**

**As our Friendship Projects Coordinator, you will**:

- Be our Ambassador for Friendship and Community social activities, working proactively to reduce social isolation and loneliness in our local community
- Keep up to date with similar projects and local need
- Manage any referrals and liaise with social prescribers and other agencies
- Recruit, support and empower volunteers to enable self-led projects
- Oversee our Beeston Friendship Club including creating a programme of speakers and entertainment
- Support our volunteer led monthly Community Meal, potentially developing a second meal in Carlton, ensuring our adherence to food hygiene standards
- Support our Saturday Carlton friendship group as necessary
- Research and develop new initiatives for those lonely and isolated to connect at Beeston and Carlton, in line with our vision, values and strategy, including use of our large Beeston allotment
- Source / create time and cost-effective resources for monthly activity packs and promotional resources

**About you**

Previous experience in a similar role and/or working with volunteers is desirable but not essential. Most important is a friendly and outgoing disposition, being happy and confident to engage with both individuals and groups, especially those of an older age (including speaking in front of large groups or chairing quizzes or similar) An interest in food/cooking will be beneficial

A ‘can-do’ attitude is essential alongside a commitment to supporting those facing loneliness and social poverty.

You must be organised and able to use Microsoft Office proficiently, with a creative flair to ensure resources and activities are engaging to our guests.

The position will be taking over as lead on existing projects therefore you should be prepared to hit the ground running, working quickly to get to know Hope Nottingham and our guests.

You'll need strong written and verbal communication skills you'll also be skilled at listening and be comfortable managing multiple projects and working to deadlines.

A DBS check (which we will fund for you on appointment) and access to transport to travel within Nottingham will be required for this role, as will completion of Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2.

You should have easy access to transport to travel between sites.
