An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Independent Advocate to join our West Midlands team supporting vulnerable people who are affected by HS2. POhWER are contracted to provide an Independent Advocacy, Support and Well-being Service for HS2. The service supports vulnerable individuals who live along the route of the new train line and who require support when engaging with HS2 Ltd. The route is currently being constructed and will run from London Euston to Birmingham and will then continue north with one line running through the East Midlands and up to Leeds and the other line running to Manchester and Wigan.

You will need to have a flexible attitude and must be comfortable handling highly sensitive information, and in seeking support and supervision. Strong communication skills and time management skills will be required and you will need to be computer literate.

The majority of this work is conducted remotely however, there will be a requirement of travel to visit clients along the HS2 route and therefore you will need to be able to travel independently of public transport. Because of the nature and location of the role, applicants must live within the area; have a **full driver’s licence and access to their own transport**. Travel expenses will be paid within reasonable travel distance.
