Matron, Immunisation and Vaccination Lead

This position is available on a permanent contract, full time hours (37.5 hours). This is a Health board wide role and will require agile working.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of Matron, Immunisation and Vaccination Lead within the Immunisation Service in SBUHB.
We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic leader who is a NMC registered nurse, preferably with a SCPHN qualification. The post holder will be a specialist clinical expert on a broad range of vaccination and immunisation matters, and will work with autonomy to provide highly specialist advice to colleagues across primary, secondary care and third sector organisations

**The post holder will be required to**:
To lead the immunisation service in the implementation of Welsh Government and Public Health Wales’ initiatives and National Policies, such as the National Immunisation Framework.
Lead in the development of immunisation plans to reduce inequalities in immunisation uptake rates across the Health Board.
To ensure there is a robust system in place for information on un-immunised children and adults in order for key health professionals to prioritise their follow up in order to reduce the risk of an outbreak of a vaccine preventable disease;
To lead and work with key stakeholders to identify and assess the impact vaccine hesitancy may have on uptake rates across the Health Board;
Ensure all Quality Improvement work is evidence based, and includes national and international examples of best practice;
Lead and develop relevant training programmes as necessary to support the implementation of new immunisation programmes to ensure a highly skilled and resilient workforce, ensuring training is consistent with the National Minimum training standards for immunisations;
Providing visible leadership, engagement, motivation, empowerment, development and support for staff who are involved with the immunisation services;
Provide assurance on compliance with the appropriate National and local policies in relation to Vaccination and Immunisations.
