Arty Amber is a multi-award winning art education initiative in the Watford, Rickmansworth, Northwood and St. Albans area (North West Herts) for children and adults from 4 years+. We work with schools and venues to provide after school art clubs, holiday art clubs, private tuition, GCSE/A level tuition and adult courses.

We have a part time Art Teaching Assistant position available for a self-employed, highly creative, engaging and experienced children's art teaching assistant who is able to use multiple mediums whilst creating a wonderfully friendly and interactive environment for 4-11 year olds. The role includes set up and pack down with some heavy lifting compulsory, to interact with the children, assist with art works and challenges that arise during the sessions and to assist the teacher.

AVAILABILITY:

- Thursdays, 3.10-5.10pm weekly, during term time only in a school in Northwood.
- Additional temporary hours may be available.

PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS (PLEASE ADDRESS THESE IN YOUR COVER LETTER)

The applicant will have:

- Proof of self employment with a UTR, which can be obtained from the HMRC website
- Diploma in Fine Art or equivalent
- An Enhanced DBS (not just a DBS), which must be obtained before the role begins
- Safeguarding certificate
- Ability to move heavy equipment - tables, chairs, bags of art gear
- At least 6 months experience working with children under 12 years in any capacity
- At least 6 months teaching or assistant teaching experience
- PLI (Public Liability Insurance), which can be obtained through Arts Network

**Job Types**: Part-time, Freelance
Part-time hours: 2 per week

**Salary**: £17.00 per hour
