Outreach Assistant

The General Medical Council (GMC) helps to protect patients and improve medical education and practice in the UK by setting standards for students and doctors. We support them in achieving (and exceeding) those standards and take action when they are not met.

We have a great opportunity for 2 Outreach Assistants to work within our Outreach Development and Support Unit.

The Outreach team works across the UK to improve understanding of GMC guidance. They explain how our processes work and promote our standards. They also collaborate with the service to understand the issues faced at local level and make sure our approach to regulation is well informed.

Summary of the role:
As an assistant in our Outreach team, you will be responsible for:

- Supporting our Advisers (who work remotely). Each day can be different which requires you to be responsive to the changing needs of the team
- Manage multiple diaries, events, and meeting support
- Make travel and accommodation bookings
- Inputting data and intelligence into a database
- Act as a first point of contact for day-to-day arrangements
- Preparing agendas and meeting documents within service level agreements (SLAs)

This is a hybrid role between home working and office working, you’ll work approximately 1 day per month in our Manchester office, or more if you prefer. We may ask you to attend the office on additional days where necessary, for example, to attend team meetings or support induction.
