The Population Health Management Lead is a new role based in NHSE Dental, Spec Comm and PHM (DSP) team in the East of England Region. You will work with consultants, program managers and specialists including Dental Public Heath, Specialised commissioning, and population health to manage and develop projects in line with the regional priorities and DSP delivery plans.

You will provide the primary Intelligence and assurance function and expertise in the fields of epidemiological data and modelling, health needs assessment, analysis of health data, reviewing health literature and evaluation of healthcare services. You will undertake analyses, interpretation and presentation of public health and healthcare data to provide health and healthcare intelligence to meet the needs of local and regional stakeholders.

You would be required to lead and manage a small team of analytical staff and responsible for using specialist health and healthcare data, extract information and delivering enhanced analytical insight to colleagues and stakeholders; developing and delivering enhanced reporting and visualisation across a variety of business intelligence (BI) functions; production of health and healthcare indicators; quality assurance of health intelligence products supporting the provision of training the team on the capabilities and benefits of high quality, insightful, analytics that facilitates decision making.

**The post holder will**:
Lead the development of information sources and infrastructure to support and develop a strong health intelligence function across the DSP team and wider collaborations.
R esponsible for developing access to health and care data sets including receiving, managing, warehousing, cleaning, recoding and validating data for further statistical analysis large highly complex data from a multitude of sources.
Lead strands of data science work and/or complex analytic projects to directly impact how the prevention, health inequalities and PHM agenda in NHS Healthcare services is designed, developed, and delivered.
A dvise on epidemiology, statistics, and analytic techniques pertaining to complex public health questions and hypothesis testing
To lead the provision and presentation of complex epidemiological and statistical information to a variety of audiences which will include both those with and without an understanding of statistical techniques to ensure effective communication of critical DSP information.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.

**The post holder will**:

- Lead the development of information sources and infrastructure to support and develop a strong healthcare public health intelligence function across the regional DSP team, in collaboration with wider NHSE directorates, ICSs, OHID and Local authority teams.
- B e responsible for developing access to health and care data sets including receiving, managing, warehousing, cleaning, recoding and validating data for further statistical analysis large highly complex data (including confidential information) for the Healthcare Public Health directorate, wider Public Health functions of Regional Director of Public Health and ICSs. Data sets include but are not limited to online datasets such as Office of National Statistics (e.g., census data), Health & Social Care Information Centre (including birth and death files), Hospital Episode Statistics (HES) data, Primary care & social care, QOF(Quality Outcomes Framework), and other data sources such as social care, housing education etc
- Through effective liaison with senior public health commissioning, and clinical colleagues, l ead strands of data science work and/or complex analytic projects to directly impact how the prevention, health inequalities and PHM agenda in NHS Healthcare services is designed, developed, and delivered.
