**SALARY**:£19,432 to £21,703 per annum+ Benefits + Sign-On Bonus & Retention Bonus of up to £1000

**JOB OVERVIEW**

The organisation is looking for a supportive and caring Support Worker Team Leader?to be responsible for leading a team of 8 dedicated Support Workers at the Newton Poppleford site.

The site provides housing-related support for people with high support needs. The purpose of the service is to enable people placed out of area to return to Devon. The service aims to support people in gaining the skills they need to live independently.

Working as a Support Worker Team Leader you will have line management responsibility for a team of up to 8 dedicated Support Workers, which will involve conducting appraisals, recruiting new team members, carrying out inductions and provide overall supportand guidance to the team.

As a Support Worker Team Leader you will work under the direction of the Registered Manager to help manage staff rota’s and plan and prioritise key areas or work.

**DUTIES**

Your duties as a Support Worker Team Leader will include:

- Liaise with the Registered Manager to ensure that any staff training, and development needs identified via supervision / appraisal are within budget
- Support the Registered Manager in the recruitment of staff and volunteers within the service, acting as a panel member in line with Recruitment and Selection policy
- Ensure that effective communications are in place and that the team is kept fully informed of organisational and service developments
- Work with the team in developing and maintaining quality improvements ensuring compliance with internal and external quality assurance systems
- Ensure all administrative, recording and reporting requirements, such as RIS/Sphera are undertaken in an appropriate and timely way by the team
- Ensure that staff within your team are aware of and comply with expense claim procedures and accurate recording and coding of financial information
- Hold delegated responsibility (in liaison with the Registered Manager) for service petty cash and monitoring
- Support the Registered Manager with financial procedures as and when required

**CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS**
- NVQ level 2 or above in Health & Social Care or equivalent
- Experience of people management
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience of providing support to people with a mental illness; or experience of providing care and/or support services within another social care setting in either a paid or voluntary capacity
- Knowledge and understanding of recovery principles and embedding the ethos of recovery into your own practice
- The ability to make a comprehensive assessment of an individual’s situation and needs; to develop, implement and review risk management plans and devise support plans to meet these needs
