**Institutional Clients Group Regulatory Engagement EMEA Region Head - Director**
**Role Overview**
This role serves as the Regulatory Engagement Regional Director for Citi's Institutional Clients Group (ICG) within EMEA. This role is responsible for supporting, monitoring and reporting on ICG's interactions with its regulators within the designated region,as well as connecting regional activities back to the Banks global regulatory activities with its primary regulators and central oversight functions.
This includes engaging across ICG businesses and Citi Global Functions (including CAO, Legal, Independent Compliance Risk Management, Independent Risk Management, and Internal Audit), together with regional CAO, Country/Regional Heads and ICG Regional Riskand Control Leads to support, monitor and report on ICG regulatory engagements and ongoing supervision. Role also includes oversight of issues and escalations within the region. The position will require stakeholder engagement to ensure that regulatory responsesare thoughtful, comprehensive and promote consistent messaging with a clear understanding of the ICG global and regional strategy. In addition, there is opportunity and expectation to provide senior management with strategic assessments of emerging regulatorythemes and regulatory advocacy within the region. Finally, this role requires strong lines of communication between the regional and Global regulatory engagement team, as an extended member of the broader global CAO organization under the Global RegulatoryEngagement office and regionally under the regional COO.

**Responsibilities**: Sp ecific to the ICG business and region being covered:

- Oversight over interactions between regulators related to examinations, reviews, and continuous monitoring/ongoing supervision activities, with focus on Extended College regulators
- Monitor requested data aggregation and submissions; review materials for completeness and responsiveness to regulatory requests; ensure best in class presentations, materials and other submissions provided to regulators
- Analyze and synthesize regulatory feedback and findings for management and key stakeholders to drive awareness of and help anticipate regulatory concerns; support identification of mitigating facts and circumstances to respond to potential issues identifiedduring regulatory engagement
- Support the drafting of the firm's Response Letters and coordinating involvement of relevant internal stakeholders on the development of Corrective Action Plans and associated target dates.
- Partner with the regional businesses, functions, and other Regulatory Engagement teams to ensure responses to regulatory concerns, issues and developments are well informed, align to the broader narrative and regional strategy, appropriately address concernsraised, and leverage best practices.
- Provide escalation of issues to global regulatory engagement, senior management, and regulatory bodies, where appropriate, and enable a holistic region wide view of local regulatory issues each country is experiencing.
- Promote effective communication strategies to drive strong relationships with regulators by establishing appropriate lines of communication that enable meaningful dialogue on developments within the EMEA franchise organization and a better understandingof the views of the regulators
- Monitor the full lifecycle of identified regulatory issues ensuring that concerns are communicated, assigned responsibility, and tracked to resolution; support governance and reporting of issues through local, regional and global forums
- Participate, execute and/or lead high priority regulatory ad hoc regional projects where appropriate; contribute to working groups to help ensure that regulatory and policy proposals and consultations are analyzed for impact and advocacy; high prioritytopics for regulatory and policy advocacy are identified and engagement strategies for these topics are well defined and executed.
- Maintain local, and provide input to, centralized repositories of supervision documents, regulatory and supervisory findings, reports, and other artefacts.
- Continually enhance the framework to identify, assess, control, and monitor regulatory communication.

- Significant knowledge of relevant laws, rules, regulations, risks and controls

**Education/Experience**:

- Significant experience in the Financial Services industry, with direct experience in regulatory facing roles
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Advanced degree (e.g. JD, MBA) and certifications (CFA, FRM) preferred
- Compliance, legal or other control-related function in the financial services firm, regulatory organization, or legal/consulting firm, or a combination thereof
- Firm understanding of Enterprise Risk Management Frameworks
- Regulator experience a plus
- Extensive experience in area of focus (regional regulators, products, businesses, etc)
