WHAT YOULL DO This role gives you an opportunity in all aspects of oral & maxillofacial surgery and major trauma. There is a regular in house protected teaching programme and ability to undertake audits with opportunities to get involved in projects leading to presentations and publications. There are regular head and neck and facial deformity MDT's and joint clinics, which the trainee will have opportunities to attend. The placement involves duties at three sites (University Hospital Southampton, ISTC - Royal South Hants Hospital -Southampton, and Royal Hampshire County Hospital
- Winchester.

All in-patient activities are based at Southampton. There is no night on-call commitment, which is covered by the hospital at night team. On-call experience is gained during standard working hours and up to 9.00 pm, when on-call. Attending OMFS and Oral Surgery Consultation Clinics Outpatient and inpatient management of maxillofacial elective and emergency patients Performing minor oral surgery under GA/LA/Sedation Attending and assisting in major cases in theatre Opportunities for audit/ research/ presentations Attendance to formal teaching sessions WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR Please see attached person specifications for essential and desirable criteria for this post.

Grades for Trust appointed (non-training) fellows will be paid a basic salary at a nodal pay point linked to the grade, at the rate set out in the National Medical and Dental pay circular. Basic salary detailed below plus any additional remuneration (as applicable) for hours set out in the doctors work schedule (e.g. additional hours, weekend allowance, and any hours which attract enhanced pay) Basic Salary - MT03 £43,923 Travelling expenses will not be paid for attending interview Please note that GMC registration (with a licence to practice) and right to work in the UK are essential for this role. Successful applicants will already have GMC registration or will be able to demonstrate they are eligible.
