WHAT YOULL DO The clinical fellows are primarily involved in the daily management of neurointensive care patients. Attendance at ward rounds is expected. Routine work is shared among the junior medical staff. Trainees will be expected to have or be willing to acquire skills such as central venous insertion and arterial cannulation.

More complex procedures may be undertaken if progress allows. Teaching is organised weekly and attendance at the multidisciplinary meetings is also encouraged. Opportunity to gain experience in teaching and improving presentation skills will be provided. Fellows will have the opportunity to participate in the clinical research trials and audits currently underway in NeuroICU.

Support for study leave will be given. Fellows will be allocated an educational supervisor and expected to undertake WPBAs and appraisal. WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR Applicants must have full GMC registration Junior fellows must have an expectation of completion of foundation competencies or equivalent prior to starting the post. Senior fellows must have completed the equivalent of core training in an acute specialty and have previous ICU experience.

All licensed doctors must meet the GMC requirements for revalidation and there will be an annual appraisal to support this process. Grades for Trust appointed (non-training) fellows will be paid a basic salary at a nodal pay point linked to the grade, at the rate set out in the National Medical and Dental pay circular. Basic salary detailed below plus any additional remuneration (as applicable) for hours set out in the doctors work schedule (e.g. additional hours, weekend allowance, and any hours which attract enhanced pay) Basic Salary - MT03 £43,923 Basic Salary - MT04 £55,329 Basic Salary MT05 £63,152 Salary will be assessed based on experience and skills.
