**About the Role**

We have a new opportunity within Protection and Resilience for a **Head of Business Continuity Management**, this is a leadership role within the Operational Resilience Team, responsible for ensuring the organisation's ability to respond effectively to disruptions and maintain critical business operations.

The key purpose of the role is to establish a strong and robust standard for business continuity management throughout Allianz UK, to monitor compliance to this standard and to act as a centre of excellence of support to the 1st line for business continuity matters.

You'll own the design and will oversee the execution of a multi-year test plan, incorporating the disaster recovery testing, which is designed to assess and validate the Operational Resilience across Allianz UK, leading a team to ensure effective delivery of the testing, highlighting any weaknesses in the business’ resilience.

You'll be responsible for providing an overview of Operational Resilience lessons learnt across Allianz UK, ensuring that the business understands what lessons can be learnt from scenario tests, and understanding how to further improve the development and embedding of the Operational Resilience framework and operating model.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Strategy, Framework & Policy**
- Developing and agreeing a comprehensive and scalable business continuity framework that aligns with the organisation's goals and objectives
- Defining standards for business continuity plans (BCPs), including setting out minimum standards for continuity plans according to the specific processes and/or assets they are relevant to
- Developing and owning a multi-year testing approach and plan, using multiple test types across IBSs and operating assets in a prioritised order, in compliance with regulatory and Group standards and incorporating best in class practices.

**Business Continuity Plan Development**
- Leading the process of conducting business and/or service impact analyses to identify critical business functions, dependencies, and recovery time objectives
- Acting as a centre of excellence to support the 1st line in defining and refining BCPs
- Assessing the quality of BCPs and any gaps, highlighting areas for improvement and challenging where appropriate.
- Report on the quality of BCPs across the business through appropriate governance, identifying gaps and proposing solutions for improvement
- Keeping abreast of industry trends, emerging risks, and best practices in business continuity management, continuously evaluating and enhancing the organisation's business continuity program to ensure it remains aligned with industry standards

**Resilience Testing**- Defining and agreeing a strategy for how to use testing to demonstrate resilience and/or identify vulnerabilities, including how to prioritise how and when to test different IBSs and business assets- Building, developing and refining a scenario library that summarises a range of severe but plausible scenarios that can be used for testing purposes- Developing and refining a multi-year resilience testing plan, organising and facilitating regular testing and exercises to validate the effectiveness of the BCPs, evaluating results, identifying areas for improvement, and updating plans accordingly.

**Operational Resilience Lessons Learnt**- Extracting key insights and lessons learnt from tests and incidents from across the business and creating a central summary, assessing how any insights and lessons learnt are being embedded and incorporated- Reporting on any lessons learnt relating to Operational Resilience and the progress in embedding and implementing to Allianz UK Board, regulators and other governance fora

**Governance & Reporting**
- Establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of the business continuity and testing programmes, regularly monitoring and reporting on these metrics to senior management, highlighting areas for improvement and recommending corrective actions.

**Alignment & Engagement**
- Building strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation, including senior executives, department heads, and business unit leaders, ensuring their business continuity needs are understood and incorporated into the overall program
