Ultra Precision Control Systems (PCS) have an exciting opportunity for a Planning Manager to join our team in Cheltenham. This is a position leading the Planning & Scheduling department and will report directly to the VP Operations & Supply Chain. They will be responsible for all planning activities and be the interface in the compilation and update cycle of the rolling plan.

Key Responsibilities:

- Overall responsibility for our planning function
- Responsible for producing the monthly operations forecast & plan
- Responsibility for daily reporting of progress to the operations forecast
- Ensure appropriate raw material provisioning to support the company customer repair requirements
- Perform monthly forward load capacity reviews, identifying improvements & risks
- Conduct monthly performance to forecast reviews identifying root cause and opportunities for improvement
- Talent management and development, including hiring, retention, performance feedback, mentoring, career and development planning.
- Accountable for all aspects of planning in operations.
- Lead planning and capacity management process improvements as well as toolbox developments
- Lead and execute the planning process for PCS, ensuring alignment to the business strategy.
- Liaise with scheduling when required to ensure customer order and project demand contract review activities are achievable.
- Responsible for labour variance reporting and stakeholder engagement.
- Control the IFS implementation of ECR/ECN and CCB embodiment.
- Responsible for maintenance of planning related IFS ERP settings.
- Accountable for PMRP/MRP and CRP inside the execution window.
- Responsible for the plan commitment, orderbook reconciliation and financial reporting in the execution window.
- Involved in product lifecycle development and identifying opportunities.
- Ensure effective and achievable lead/lag measures and objectives are established.
- Provide accurate reporting of manufacturing against our expected costs.
- Actively manage the planning/scheduling risk register alongside the Scheduling Manager.
- Establish clear standards and approach specific to planning.
- Support external or internal auditing to demonstrate our compliance to process and working practices.
- Enable effective decision making by developing where required as well as data capture and analysis opportunities.
- Support and where appropriate lead investigations into determining the root cause of delays.
- Responsible for ensuring suitable attendance at MRB/Triage reviews, impact assessments and control of IFS following disposition.
- Provide feedback to production, commercial, quality and procurement on areas that may affect quality, cost or delivery.
- Support development of the business’ IT and IFS literacy.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Essential
- Computer literate and experienced in using ERP functions, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint office tools
- Demonstrated proficiency in forecasting methods with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts.
- Working knowledge of S&OP and the demand planning process.
- Experienced and effective communicator at all levels, experience engaging and presenting to senior level professionals.
- Clear understanding of business functions, responsibilities and opportunities.

Desirable
- Licenses/Certificates: APICS or other planning Certification preferred
- Experience of IFS ERP system
- Ability to influence and support key business stakeholders
- Ability to challenge current embedded culture and ways of working
- Understanding the commercial drivers of business and how they impact the P&L
- Data driven with the ability to analyse and resolve problems.
