Assistant Practitioners (Band 4)

We are looking to recruit unique people to work as Assistant Practitioners in our Theatres. As members of our multi-disciplinary teams, as an Assistant Practitioner (Level 4) the post holder is expected to independently manage their own work and case load, undertaking tasks delegated by a registered practitioner with appropriate supervision in place. Having an understanding of evidence based practice and delivering care in line with current evidence, the post holder will take responsibility for taking action relative to an individual’s health and care in accordance with organisational policy and procedures.

With opportunities to work across site in Morriston, Neath Port Talbot and Singleton Theatre department, we are developing Assistant Practitioner roles to complement our Theatre teams across specialities.

If you are interested in this opportunity for the Assistant Practitioner Band 4 role you must already hold the Certificate in Healthcare (120 Level 4 CQFW Credits).

As an Assistant Practitioner (Level 4) the post holder is expected to independently manage their own work and case load, undertaking tasks delegated by a registered practitioner with appropriate supervision in place. Having an understanding of evidence-based practice and delivering care in line with current evidence, the post holder will take responsibility for taking action relative to an individual’s health and care in accordance with organisational policy and procedures.

The post holder will be responsible for some elements of assessment, implementing programmes of care and modifying individualised care plans, reporting back to the registered practitioner. They may delegate work to others and may supervise, teach and assess other staff.

Delivers high quality, compassionate, evidence-based care to a group of patients following the initial assessment by the Registered Practitioner utilising person-centred approaches which promote health and independence.

Under leadership and direction of the Registered Practitioner ensure that all patients have appropriate individualised, clinical assessments/ risk assessments providing accurate feedback to the team as necessary.

Works with the Registered Practitioner to evaluate the effectiveness of care delivered and agree changes to the plan of care as required.

Maintains clear and accurate patient records utilising both digital and paper based records.

Recognises and effectively responds to emergency situations escalating support from the Registered Practitioner in a timely and appropriate manner.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
