**Job description**:
We are looking for an enthusiastic self-starter to provide direct PA and administrative support to Deputy Director’s within the Transport Decarbonisation / Future Transport Systems & Environment Directorates.

Our teams play a central role in shaping the future of transport in the UK, leading agendas at the heart of the Government’s objectives of achieving net zero by reducing emissions from transport, and boosting the international standing and competitiveness of UK plc. Our jobs are important, and will leave a lasting legacy for the UK’s automotive, fuels and transport sectors, public health, the environmental and safety performance of the UK’s transport system; as well as the Department for Transport’s standing in the world.

This role is perfect for a confident, dedicated and enthusiastic self-starter who will thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment, balancing competing demands and delivering to challenging timetables.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Providing diary support, managing and prioritising multiple demands on DD time, including engaging with high profile external stakeholders.
- Management and support across corporate activities; covering tasks related to HR, IT, on-boarding, business and workforce planning and corporate work-streams.
- Support Senior Management (SMT) meetings by drawing up agendas, circulating papers, minuting/recording and tracking actions and leading on admin issues.
- Provide administrative support to the Corporate Support Team as and when required including raising purchase orders, accounting for payments and correspondence administration.

**Additional information**

A minimum of 40% of your working time should be spent at your principal workplace, although requirements to attend other locations for official business, or carry out detached duty in another DfT workplace, will also count towards this level of attendance.
