The role of the Network Operations Team Leader is to lead their team in order to run the assigned department efficiently and accurately, and achieve compliance with all internal and external guidelines and regulations.

**Your New Role**
- Take a leading role in the design, deployment and management of network technology (LAN/WAN/WLAN) across 13 offices and warehouses, and over 1,100 Stores
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert to the GB/IE business in relation to all IT network topics
- Manage the tasks assigned to your team in order to ensure the appropriate level of support is provided to the business and that business-critical activities are always prioritised
- Create and execute rollout plans
- Control and manage timescales, scope, deadlines and milestones, and change management of the projects assigned to you
- Develop best practise for running a high availability business-critical network
- Document existing business processes and workflows
- Investigate and capture new business process/system requirements
- Ensures compliance with legal obligations and regulatory standards
- Prepare communications to the business as required
- Provide third level support to offices, warehouses and stores including the escalation of any issues to external support partners when necessary
- Test hardware and program updates to verify whether newly implemented requirements and existing functionality operate without errors
- Provide the National IT Manager with accurate forecasts of spend within the area of responsibility and approving invoices within your sign-off limit
- Co-ordinate and direct consultants, contractors, vendors and suppliers as required, including the approval of Purchase Orders for Goods and Services
- Make recommendations to the National IT Manager on new technologies
- Manage system maintenance which will occasionally fall outside of normal business hours
- Support the handover of operational tasks to third-party suppliers in order to enhance the support capability

You will also be required to carry out any other duties requested of you by your direct Line Manager.

**About You**
- Experience of leading a technical team, especially within the Networks area
- Hands-on experience with network administration supporting core business environments
- Coordinating external and internal resources that are carrying out design work
- Coordinating external and internal resources conducting testing, as well as carrying out testing of all changes to the network (including software updates, hardware changes and configuration changes)
- Installation, maintenance and configuration of routers, firewalls and switches
- Conceptual knowledge of Wide Area Network (WAN) technologies such as routing, MPLS and SD-WAN
- Conceptual knowledge of Network Firewall technologies, especially Fortinet Fortigate
- Advanced knowledge of Local Area Network (LAN) Technologies, especially Juniper and Cisco Meraki
- Advanced knowledge of Wireless LAN Technologies, especially Extreme Wi-Fi (formerly Zebra / Motorola) and Cisco Meraki
- Detailed understanding of network cable patching and key standards for installation of structured cabling
- Have excellent listening, interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to take responsibility for business
