Weightmans Intelligence Team provide expert desktop investigation and insight services to Weightmans teams and clients. The work of the team is really varied, and we provide investigative support to clients in relation to many different types of legal disputes and investigations.

In order to support our exciting plans for the future, we are seeking to recruit an experienced Intelligence Handler, Investigator or Analyst to take up this role in the team.

**Key responsibilities**

As an Intelligence Handler your key duties and responsibilities will include:

- Through the use of intelligence techniques and products; you will support our clients to achieve the best possible outcome in relation to the matter under investigation.
- The provision of quality guidance and advice to our clients and colleagues regarding intelligence investigations and related matters.
- Undertaking compliant desktop investigations and produce quality intelligence reports regarding your findings.
- The production of witness evidence regarding your intelligence investigation so that your findings can be disclosed and used in Court when necessary.
- You will give evidence in Court regarding intelligence investigations which you have undertaken.
- Keeping yourself and Weightmans colleagues up to date with market trends and conditions specific to Intelligence and the markets within which the firm operates.
- Conducting Data Protection Act compliant investigations with third parties.
- Attending and contributing at industry and client Intelligence forums and meetings.
- Handling and processing confidential, sensitive and restricted intelligence.
- Assisting with other work allocated by the Intelligence Manager.

This list is not intended to be exhaustive and you will be expected to perform other duties and have other responsibilities that fall within the wider remit of the role. As a Paralegal you will also ensure that you comply with the relevant Weightmans and client policies and procedures, and consistently work in accordance with our values.

**About You**:
You will have previous experience and a genuine and demonstrable interest in the above area of work. As the role is varied, we are looking for you to have a flexible approach to the work you do and be able to adapt to different tasks. We also require you to have/be:

- Experience of working in an Intelligence Environment as an Intelligence Analyst, Investigator or handler
- You will be passionate about Counter fraud and assisting Weightmans clients in the fight against fraud.
- A background in an intelligence or investigation environment.
- A background in utilising up-to-date technologies in order to mitigate fraud risks.
- Detailed knowledge of supporting legislation and regulation underpinning the use of intelligence and associated products.
- Detailed working knowledge of the DPA principles and exemptions aligned to the sharing of intelligence/information.
- A proven ability to learn and adapt.
- Genuine pride in the quality of your investigation process and in the products which you produce.
- A high level of accuracy with excellent written and communication skills.
- A positive, professional and confident manner.
- A commitment to confidentiality, both internally and externally.
- The ability to analyse complex data and produce meaningful insights.
- Flexibility and an ability to work well under pressure with the ability to work to strict deadlines and targets.
- Excellent organisation and time-management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise.
