Associate Clinical Skills Facilitator

Professional Leadership Support and work alongside the Clinical Skills Lead. Promote collaborative working partnerships and effective communication with Ward Managers and Departmental leads. Support professional and clinical standards in practice. Act as a supportive professional role model for nursing and midwifery, in accordance with The NMC code and standards.
Support the development and understanding of the Nursing/Midwifery & AHP Strategy, Trusts objectives and vision. Organisational & Management responsibilities In conjunction with the Clinical Skills Lead, assist in the on-going development of the Clinical Skills programme, ensuring good practice guidance and competency frameworks are in place, fully implemented and evaluated. Demonstrate and promote excellent interpersonal skills, written, verbal and nonverbal communication styles. Influence and nurture positive attitudes and behaviours within the teams and wider multidisciplinary team.
Support the promotion and maintenance of a departmental culture which promotes an open and honest approach to professional decision making and problem solving. Promote and maintain organisational and professional standards. Support the mandatory and role specific training agenda. Support the Clinical Skills Lead by actively participating in PPD and Trust wide meetings.
Utilise information from incidents and complaints to inform practice/educational programmes. Undertake relevant clinical practices in accordance with their Scope of Professional Practice. Where issues of clinical competence are identified, work with the Practice Development Leads and the Ward Managers to develop a plan and provide support in the clinical area. Develop the use of simulation, virtual reality and associated technology to support a simulated learning environment.
Supporting staff to achieve clinical competence of skills in a clinical environment. Service development implementation Support transformational change management for nursing, midwifery and AHP staff. Supporting Trust wide projects and initiatives promoting quality and safety of patient care. Financial & physical resources Support the effective use of resources and safe methods of practice.
Demonstrate budgetary awareness in the implementation of clinical practice. Highlight adverse risks identified through risk assessment to the Divisional Governance Group for escalation and inclusion in the Divisional Risk Register. Information resources Input information and have a working knowledge of the hospital information systems. Adhere to Trust information governance policies.
Promote and disseminate research and audit findings as required. Personal skills Develop own knowledge, skills, and expertise, and maintain professional portfolio. Maintain an awareness of issues relating to nursing/midwifery/AHP on the national agenda. Communicate effectively with a range of people on a variety of matters in a form that is appropriate to them and the situation.
Be able to work as an integrated member of the multidisciplinary team. Maintain own professional and personal development requirements for role. OTHER INFORMATION The post holder may be required to carry out other relevant duties as required. The post holder will be expected to participate in the Trusts objectives, contractual obligations, and governance agenda.
The post holder will make themselves familiar with, and adhere to, at all times, the policies, and procedures of the Trust. The post holder will adhere to, at all times, any Professional and NHS Code of Conducts for their area of work. The post holder will be expected to work to any Divisional/Department objectives and standards set in order to provide an acceptable level of service. The post holder will act, at all times, in a courteous, dignified, and respectful manner when dealing with patients, staff and visitors to the Trust.
It is the responsibility of all staff to minimise the Trusts environmental impact by, for example, recycling wherever possible, switching off lights, computers, monitors and equipment when not in use, minimising water usage and reporting faults promptly.
