We’ve got an exciting opportunity to join our busy PR and social media team to help shape the stories we tell about our charity and increase understanding of autism. Our new Social Media Officer will be responsible for:

- Ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the charity social media channels.
- Producing engaging social media copy for the charity’s wide and diverse social media audience.
- Working closely with the colleagues from across the National Autistic Society to help communicate the charity’s new strategy and organisational priorities.

This is a permanent role, for 5 days per week/35 hours per week.

Split between home working and working in a National Autistic Society Office.

- Ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the charity social media channels.
- Producing engaging social media copy for the charity’s wide and diverse social media audience.
- Working closely with the colleagues from across the National Autistic Society to help communicate the charity’s new strategy and organisational priorities.
- Any other tasks as directed by the Social Media Manager.
- **Principal accountabilities**_
- Ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the charity social media channels.
- Drafting engaging social media copy for charity-wide campaigns and activities.
- Scheduling social media posts using social media tools eg Sprout Social.
- Responsibility for maintaining and updating a database of social media template responses.
- Responding to messages, posts and comments received across social media channels, in-line with established charity protocols and responses.
- Maintaining and updating a 12-month social media calendar with planned social media activity and new social media requests.
- Maintaining and updating a database of social media template responses.
- Developing relationships with colleagues from across the charity to source potential future social media content, relevant to the charity’s strategy and organisational objectives.
- Preparing reports on social media post performance as directed by the Social Media Manager.
- Participate in an out-of-hours social media and press rota.
