Sen Teaching Assistant

**Calling all Teaching, Learning Support Assistants and Nursery Workers. We have opportunities available for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our teaching support team at Jigsaw School, a day school rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted for autistic children aged 4-19.**
Access a wide range of funded training and qualification opportunities in SEN education whilst gaining a breadth of experience with children of varying ages and abilities. At Jigsaw School, we use behaviour driven teaching strategies and interventions to encourage positive outcomes and development of our pupils. Working within small classes individually and in groups, you will design, plan and deliver teaching sessions to encourage pupils learning and progression as well as improve their social and emotional development.
**Salary: £23,000 **per annum. **You will also receive a £1,000 bonus upon joining**
**Hours**:Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 16:30 (till 17:30 on Tuesdays). **Part Time working is also considered - 3 or 4 days (working days must include a Tuesday)**

- Behaviour analysis specific qualifications including Teaching Ranks, Registered Behaviour Technician (RBT), Board Certified Behaviour Analysis certification (BCBA), UK Society for Behaviour Analysis certification (UKBA(cert))
- Masters in High Incidence & Disabilities worth up to £13,000
Additionally, all staff will also receive regular training in Safeguarding, Emergency Medication, Behaviour Management, Personal Care, Autism and more

**What will I be doing?**
- Provide teaching and support to our pupils, following individualised curriculums
- Plan, prepare and deliver lessons and activities, focusing largely on communication skills and life skills
- Provide behaviourally based support to replace and reduce behaviours that impact quality of life
- Provide personal care, encouraging pupils to maintain acceptable levels of hygiene (toileting, feeding)
- Monitor pupil progress, ensuring teaching is appropriate and effective for each child’s needs
- Assist with breaktime duties including playground support and snack time
**What do you need?**
- Professional, personal or voluntary experience of working with children and disabilities
- Minimum Grade C/4 GCSE in English Language & Maths or equivalent
- Comfortable working with children who exhibit behaviour that challenges
- Comfortable supporting others with personal/intimate care where required
- Ability to keep calm in high pressure situations
