Our
**Peer Support Worker** role is designed to support the rest of the team engage with service users within a street outreach setting. Additionally, this role aims to support those with lived experience to gain employment and build skills and experience for their own professional development.

The Peer Support Workers are anticipated to be people who themselves have lived experiences of homelessness and understand how it feels to be in that position.

**Salary**: £22,357.18- £23,525.95 pro rata

**About the role**:

- Work in a street outreach capacity providing support to the rest of the team and to other stakeholders
- Provide a friendly and consistent space for service users to talk and engage
- Create links with local communities and work to target people affected by homelessness and issues surrounding this, who are not in touch with mainstream services - those isolated in communities, unaware of services, or who do not feel services are for them
- Work closely with other community-based projects and local facilitators in supporting focused activities
- Utilise existing local resources and build local community awareness, signposting to relevant agencies

**About you**:

- Experience of being homeless or living in supported accommodation
- Knowledge of and links within related communities
- Skills to undertake data and administrative duties
- Communicate confidently and effectively, verbally and in writing
- Employ a mature, empathetic, and non-judgmental attitude towards service users
- Show commitment to facilitating positive outcomes for service users
