To ensure all post graduate radiographers understand radiotherapy development and practice at WPCC and Regionally and Nationally

Supports Clinical educators and mentors ensuring the quality of apprentice placements and learning.

Write new policies and procedures to support training and roll out for the safe and effective delivery of new treatment techniques and new technologies in radiotherapy.

Be responsible for the provision of and output from the Radiotherapy Training Programme. To co-ordinate, develop and deliver the Programme.

Create Standard Operating Policies (SOPs), for delivering, attaining, and evidencing clinical education in the radiotherapy department in line with regulatory requirements of IRMER 2017

To undertake a programme of service evaluation and audit to ensure the effectiveness of the development programmes for Therapeutic Radiography and the support workforce and identify the service improvements required and implement them using established service improvement tools and theory.

It is a centre for outpatient and inpatient non-surgical cancer care and is one of the leading Radiotherapy Centres in the country.

To support the delivery of innovative cancer services an opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, experienced, creative and forward-thinking individual to join our team as a Clinical Educator. The post holder will play a leading role in the development of the radiotherapy workforce using expert knowledge to ensure that it is agile, resilient and fit for the future.

Develop strategies to enhance staff recruitment, staff engagement and career development.

To ensure all post graduate radiographers understand radiotherapy development and practice at WPCC and Regionally and Nationally.

Supports Clinical educators and mentors ensuring the quality of apprentice placements and learning.

Required to maintain clinical competency and provide cover to the Superintendent team when needed.

Work with the management team to identify learning needs and provide a link with the L&D team at STH and HEIs.

Support delivery of clinical supervision, annual appraisals, and personal development plans for all staff.

Develop progression and education for support workforce using STH framework.

Education and Development

To Liaise with the SMRS, Principal Radiographers, superintendent radiographers, medical physics, and Clinical Oncologists, to identify the training and development needs of the current and future radiotherapy workforce in line with WPCC and Y&H ODN workforce plan. To ensure education and learning is underpinned by research and evidence-based practice ensuring all staff work within Professional and Trust Guidelines, policies and Procedures at all times.

Support the continuing education and development of the Therapeutic Radiographic professionals at Weston Park Cancer Centre who deliver services to patients with cancer and their families from undergraduate level and on through preceptorship, to M Level and Doctoral level as required.

Develop support processes and assessment criteria in all aspects of training within the treatment and pre treatment areas to assure consistent standards across the service.

Develop, implement, and evaluate competency-based training programmes and facilitate learning opportunities to meet the needs of the radiotherapy workforce. To design and deliver specialist education and learning events, activities and tools across the Cancer Centre.

Support introduction of new technologies within the department providing relevant training and
