As the Head of Business Operations and Communications, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth functioning of our operations, with a particular focus on communication, marketing, contract performance monitoring, and organisational-wide systems. Working closely with a dedicated team, you will lead efforts to enhance communication strategies, drive the successful implementation of projects and services, and optimise organisational-wide systems to support our mission effectively.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Serve as a key member of the Senior Management Team, contributing to policy formulation and strategic decision-making that influences the overall effectiveness of the organisation.
- Direct communications and marketing efforts to raise organisational visibility and communicate impact to diverse audiences.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging innovation and overseeing the integration and optimisation of operational processes to ensure seamless functionality and support across departments, enabling more effective delivery of services.
- Implement and monitor systems to track and enhance organisational performance, ensuring all teams meet their key objectives and contribute positively to the broader mission.
- Direct and deliver HR functions, focusing on staff wellbeing, diversity, and inclusion, ensuring compliance with employment regulations and fostering a positive organisational culture.
- Manage financial strategies and administrative operations, collaborating with financial staff to ensure budgetary compliance and operational efficiency.

**Communications and Marketing**
- Provide strategic direction and oversight for the Communications and Marketing team to achieve organisational objectives effectively through collaborative and results-driven approaches.
- Manage the organisation’s digital presence, ensuring the website and social media platforms are user-friendly, highly visible on search engines, and engaging, to attract and interact with key stakeholders.
- Create and implement comprehensive marketing plans and assess their effectiveness against targets, leveraging insights to recommend improvements and align with strategic objectives.

**People and Culture**
- Lead the HR function to maintain a positive work environment throughout the employment lifecycle, ensuring compliance with current regulations and best practices.
- Develop initiatives to promote staff wellbeing and champion equality, inclusion, and diversity within HR and recruitment practices.
- Manage and periodically review safeguarding policies, ensuring they align with best practices and legal requirements.

**Internal Systems Management**
- Collaborate with management to enhance internal systems and digital platforms, such as CiviCRM and the organisation's website, ensuring they support efficient service delivery and customer relationship management.
- Ensure adherence to IT policies and security protocols, working with external IT support to maintain robust online security and system functionality.

**Managing Performance and Data Reporting**
- Lead monitoring and reporting functions for externally funded projects, establishing a robust framework for assessing performance across all organisational activities.
- Conduct social impact research and utilise data analysis to support strategic decision-making and service development. Strengthen evaluation systems to assess the impact and drive continuous improvement.
- Develop a knowledge strategy by analysing internal and external data to inform organisational strategies and service improvements.

**Proposal Development and Bid Management**
- Lead the preparation and management of funding bids and business proposals, ensuring they align with organisational goals and demonstrate compelling value through robust data analysis.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and exploit funding opportunities, maintaining efficient procedures for bid and tender management.

**Finance and Business Administration**
- Ensure effective budget management and financial oversight in collaboration with the Financial and Admin Manager, focusing on cost-effectiveness and compliance with financial policies.
- Develop and manage operational systems to enhance target delivery and support efficient administrative functions.
- Maintain and update compliance policies related to data protection, health & safety, and charity law. Support the CEO in managing the risk register.
