**About the role**:
Lead, manage, develop, influence and deliver all aspects of Quality and Competency within NIS through the implementation and monitoring of an effective Training and Competency Scheme to ensure all NIS teams have the knowledge and capability necessary to competently and compliantly deliver on department objectives and provide a market leading customer experience. Working with the NIS Management team and relevant stakeholders across the business to provide assurance and evidence that NIS is aligned with NFU Mutual policies, regulatory requirements and operates within risk appetite.

**Key Duties**:

- Identify, assess, recommend strategies and implement solutions for managing quality across assurance, operational, strategic and change risks to ensure the NIS management team and other stakeholders are informed and that any risks are effectively managed in line with group standards, internal audit expectations, regulatory requirements and risk appetites, liaising with relevant stakeholders such as Sales and Agency, L&OD, and Agency departments.
- Lead the development, evaluation, implementation and monitoring of quality standards within NIS ensuring that all teams maintain the appropriate level of technical knowledge, skills and behaviours necessary to competently and compliantly deliver on their objectives in order to deliver exceptional customer experience
- Design, plan, track and report on both quality and thematic reviews, HO internal audits and outcomes, to provide assurance that NIS risks are identified, managed, issues addressed, opportunities for improvement identified, outcomes challenged where appropriate and actions are completed within the regulatory framework liaising with relevant stakeholders both within NIS and HO stakeholders such as T & C and Agency departments.
- Acting as an independent assessor within NIS, analyse and proactively identify, report and escalate common or systemic quality risks and issues and subsequently create, influence and support the shaping of development solutions or risk mitigation action, to ensure the NIS team and agents are supported in their provision of service to the client and NFUMs reputation is protected.
- Build, develop and maintain relationships with GI Sales & Process team, Quality Development Consultants, all field sales support, Regional Sales Support and Head Office Sales to ensure effective collaboration exists across the regional team and all areas responsible for quality and competency.
- Oversee, develop, influence and maintain training and communication materials in conjunction with the NIS Placement & Supply Chain, NIS Sales & Service teams and L&OD to support the NIS team and agency network to contribute to the knowledge they need to operate effectively and compliantly within the NFUM Sale Framework.
- Lead, manage, motivate and develop direct reports so that they know what is expected of them, can maximise their contribution to business objectives and realise their potential.
- Deliver short term / one-off projects and activities as required by and to the standards and outcomes agreed with Line Manager.

- Experience of Commercial Insurance

- Knowledge of the Regulatory Framework
- Experience of managing and influencing stakeholders
- Experience of analysing information to inform decision making
- Experience of identifying & successfully implementing improvements to processes, practices or policies
- Experience of coaching, training and providing feedback desirable
- Competent in MS Office systems with excellent Excel Skills
- Proven skills within training and coaching

**Qualifications**
- ACII or other relevant qualification desirable.
- Risk qualification desirable
- Project Management experience desirable

This role falls under Insurance Distribution Directive requirements, and as a result, role holders will be required to demonstrate ongoing Continuous Professional Development in role, along with undergoing regular re-screening to show that they are of “Good Repute”.
