The East London NHS Foundation Trust (ELFT) provides a wide range of community and inpatient services to children, young people, adults of working age, older adults and forensic services to the City of London, Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets, Bedfordshire and Luton. In Tower Hamlets the Trust provides high standard mental health services for children and young people based on strong partnerships with the Borough’s education and social care services, community health services and voluntary/third sector agencies.

**Salary**: NHS Band 8a TBC inclusive of Inner London high cost area supplement

37.5 hours per week inclusive of training days.

Main

**Responsibilities**:
1. To provide systemic interventions to parents, carers and children on social care plans with significant parenting, relationship and behavioural difficulties
2. To work jointly with other members of the team, bringing a systemic perspective to their work with families
3. To provide systemic supervision to team members and support the development of systemic practice within the service
4. To support the development of systemic practice and training within Children’s Social Care

Tower Hamlets is a rapidly growing, vibrant inner-city borough with a young ethnically diverse population who experience some of the highest levels of deprivation in the country. There is a high prevalence of mental health difficulties amongst young people and a high proportion of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

Applicants should be aware that they must have completed the four year Systemic Clinical MSc and be registered with UKCP. Local knowledge of Tower Hamlets and its diverse range of cultures and ethnic groups is desirable.

**Job Summary**:
This job will require the post holder to ensure a strong systemic perspective and clinical supervision is offered to the EoC team as well as contributing to the wider development of systemic practice in Children’s Social Care. The post holder is expected to support the running of a fortnightly Family Therapy Clinic within the CAMHS in Social Care Team (CISC) for families known to Children’s Social care as well as undertake work independently using Systemic approaches. Where a child known to the Edge of Care team requires a mental heath assessment the post holder will undertake an assessment to gauge the level of risk and care co-ordinate the young person’s mental health care plan.

The post holder will be required to work with a high degree of professional autonomy and self-management, have ability to work across organisational systems and will be required to account for their professional practice through appraisal and audit.
