Working closely alongside our Health and Safety Consultant to ensure compliance at all times. This role is being offer on a full time permanent basis based at our Head Office near Downham Market. You will be required to travel to our regional depots, to support Health and Safety and Environmental and Quality across The CGM Group.

This role would suit an individual who is newly qualified to NEBOSH standards, looking for their next step to gain experience in a fast paced, friendly team.

**What you'll be doing....**
- Providing health and safety advice for each of the departments within The CGM Group - Grounds Maintenance, Arboriculture, Landscape Construction, Winter Services, Facilities, Environmental Services, and any other departments that the company may create or work in
- Promoting the company’s compliance with current health and safety legislation approved codes of practice and guidance in relation to employment and service provision
- To work proactively with managers to establish and maintain a system that promotes a culture of safe working practices across the companies
- To ensure all company’s Health and Safety policies are implemented consistently across the group
- To monitor, evaluate and review Health and Safety policy and practice, make recommendations and implement new policies and procedures as required
- To assist in the identification of training needs for employees and develop and deliver training as required and liaison with the Human Resources Department
- To advise the Directors on the implications of current and emerging health, safety, and welfare legislation including evaluating options, making recommendations, and generating an action plan to ensure compliance with the direction of Health and Safety Consultant
- Understand and share relevant technical requirements for H&S across site
- Support training and coaching across the facility to drive a safety-perfect culture
- Support Employee Engagement and feedback of relevant site H&S information - update site H&S notice boards.
- Actively work alongside site colleagues in implementing improvement plans
- Facilitate implementation of corrective actions and preventative actions where required
- Administer and track all H&S data and statistics across site including preparation of regular reports on compliance and activity for Directors
- Work with HR to set up a new employee on-boarding process for safety
- Assist with emergency drills and documentation
- To assist managers to implement health and safety systems and procedures to meet specific requirements, such as accident reporting and the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) in a consistent and effective manner
- To carry out audits to evaluate the effectiveness of Health and Safety systems, and procedures and identify and implement improvements by authorisation of the Directors
- To ensure routine health and safety activities and checks are carried out e.g. annual PAT testing, fire extinguisher testing, driving licence checks, and life jackets
- Complete the review of risk assessments, method statements, and safe systems of work
- To investigate or where appropriate to assist others to investigate the circumstances and causes of accidents and take necessary steps to prevent a recurrence
- Take action to mitigate the impact and likelihood of health and safety risks
- Coordinating and issuing notifications when required to the HSE
- Undertake Health, safety, and environmental audits to comply with ISO: 9001/14001 systems as required
- Publishing Company Management System documents onto the systems
- Manage the companies waste streams
- Review the company's environmental impacts looking at ways to reduce these

**Skills and experience you will need...**

You will possess organisational skills with the ability to communicate and work with all levels within the business coupled with a strong desire to get the job done

IOSH/NEBOSH qualification and valid driving license are essential for this role
- Min of 2 years experience within the Health and Safety role
- Experience of carrying out Health and Safety Audits to comply with ISO: 9001/14001
- Excellent MS Office skills
- Excellent written/oral communication and listening skills
- Understanding of COSHH
- Holds a Fire Safety Certificate
- Experience of MEWP
- Holds a NEBOSH general certificate
- Able to use own initiative and has a positive attitude towards developing efficient ways of working
