**Senior Officer - Systems and Information Management**

**SALARY: S4 (£32,909 - £34, 723)**

**Location: one of the 3 GwE regional offices (Caernarfon, Colwyn Bay, Mold)**

GwE is the school improvement service for North Wales. It is a shared service across six Local Authorities, working closely with schools. - Excellent IT skills and extensive experience of using Microsoft and Google packages

- Experience of managing / supervising staff

**SPECIALIST SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE**

**ESSENTIAL**
- Experience of operating and developing SharePoint sites
- Extensive experience of using Office 365 and IT packages effectively, including TEAMS, EXCEL, ACCESS and WORD
- Experience of supporting and training users
- The ability to extract information from databases and summarise and present information in tables, graphs and reports
- The ability to communicate confidently and effectively with people on all levels
- Sound awareness of the Data Protection and Freedom of Information Act

**DESIRABLE**
- Experience of using SQL, VBA, the ability to programme

**Main purpose of the Post**

To support the Information Manager to create, maintain, operate and develop service systems to ensure an effective flow of information within the service and to its stakeholders.

To support service staff through provision of training and advice for users on making the best use of service systems so that the work of the service is undertaken effectively.

To support the Information Manager to gather, analyse, share and present information using the most effective methods.

To lead on producing complex data analyses and creating information dashboards to inform stakeholders.

To provide expertise to evaluate and facilitate the development of the data unit as demands and expectations evolve and increase.

To act as line manager for staff members(s), ensuring their professional development.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
- Maintain, develop and support service systems by providing expert advice and best practice guidance on maintaining and developing systems, and devise and implement procedures to develop service systems.
- Operate systems, including Office 365, and identify, investigate, recommend and implement solutions to facilitate effective use of Microsoft 365 apps such as Teams, Office, Outlook, Flow, PowerApps, OneDrive, Power BI and SharePoint.
