**Overall Job Purpose**:
We require an experienced MIS Officer to work as part of a small team whose main purpose is to meet the data return requirements of a range of external stakeholders and provide timely data and statistics to managers and staff within the organisation.

You will be responsible for assisting the office in a range of duties, ensuring that our administrative systems are continuously developed, and all data is stored in an orderly and secure manner.

There will be responsibility for the data quality, validation and accuracy of Traineeship, Classroom (AEB) and Workplace Learning data. You will be educated to A Level standard or equivalent (min) and have experience of data collection, management, analysis and reporting along with excellent administrative, organisational and IT Skills. Experience of accurately producing documents and materials under pressure and to tight deadlines is essential.

Furthermore, to assist the Operations Director in consolidating, improving and enhancing the work of the information services functions of the organisation with strong emphasis on developing and producing high quality curriculum data reports throughout the year but will also involve deputising for the Senior MIS Officer in all of his duties.

It is essential that the officer/s possesses excellent interpersonal skills, is technically adept, has high standards, an experienced organiser, has a good understanding of post-16 curriculum and has the ability to adapt quickly to new environments and technologies.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Project Compliance**
- Work with the Senior MIS Officer to create regular Individual Learner Records (ILR), removing errors and inconsistencies.
- Work with the Senior MIS Officer to ensure that all financial and quality data returns to the ESFA/GLA/Local Authorities and any other bodies are timely and accurate
- Deputies for the Senior MIS Officer to ensure that the MIS function of the organisation are providing a high quality, customer-focused service.
- To work with the MIS team to ensure that students are enrolled and timetabled accurately and efficiently.
- Use other relevant software to write and develop dynamic reports from a range of MIS databases, ensuring that data is readily available to staff in a variety of formats.
- Establish and maintain the curriculum file and work with the Head of Curriculum to ensure accuracy throughout the year.
- Run Data Self-Assessment Toolkit (DSAT) and other Toolkit reports to highlight errors/inconsistencies in data and remove/amend.
- Utilise other tools/systems/checks (e.g., Microsoft Access/Excel queries) as appropriate to maintain data quality, devise more efficient methods of recording provision and maximise funding claimed.
- With the relevant department, Course and Senior Leaders, maintain and provide reports on request.
- Work with organisation staff during the implementation of new software, modules or reports to ensure all issues are resolved and staff are confident using the software and interpreting the data.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the latest learner eligibility, existence rules and audit requirements and be able to share this knowledge with colleagues.
- Be responsible for specific projects or areas of MIS work, being responsible for developing projects from idea to completion.
- Develop and maintain an excellent knowledge and understanding of ESFA/GLA/ESF funding methodologies and data requirements.

**Project Administration**:

- To support the management of projects involving project teams as required.
- To support the strategic objectives of MISDC in relation to delivery partners and organisations management.
- To provide a high quality and efficient Partnership and Delivery Organisation Assurance service to ensure the successful delivery of MI’s delivery programme aims and objectives, including project delivery milestones, outputs, and outcomes.
- To support the development of best practice project management techniques as well as to undertake partnership management policy development as required.
- Ensure that programmes, projects and performance indicators remain on track to deliver the targets set by funders and if not then corrective action is taken which is closely monitored. To ensure the full involvement of key staff members in this process.
- Ensure that the partnership assurance functions effectively and is fully supported to enable delivery performance reviews and ensure monitoring & assurance review at appropriate stages throughout the project contracted period.
- This will require the review of all projects in terms of their development or delivery to ensure the timeliness or otherwise in relation to meeting their delivery objectives and targets.
