The UKHSA are seeking a temporary Business Support Officer to provide day-to-day administrative support to the South West Health Protection Team, whilst maintaining working relationships with a variety of stakeholders both internal and external to the organisation, and undertaking project support for short, medium and long-term activities for the core team.

Main Responsibilities
The role is inclusive of, but not limited to:

- Manage a high volume of telephone, written or face-to-face enquires on behalf of the team, determining escalations to officers and / or managers accordingly.
- Lead and act as a central coordinating point of contact for a range of business administration activities. This will include delegated lead responsibility for certain corporate function processes.
- Undertake project support in the absence of a dedicated project support role in the structure, responding to information requests and other tasks which will involve meeting tight deadlines and may include using digital tools, for example JIRA. This will include assisting and working closely with members of the project team(s), supporting elements of projects as directed by the relevant lead or project manager; maintaining project plans; supporting the provision of management information; and participating in working groups.
- Provide dedicated comprehensive PA support to one or more individual senior members of the directorate as requested, including diary management, preliminary drafting of correspondence on the manager's behalf and/or preparing presentations.
- Work independently on a hybrid basis, 4 days remote working, and travel to a local office, 1 day per week.

Personal Specification:

- Significant experience in a fast paced administrative & call handling role.
- Comprehensive knowledge and regular use of Microsoft Office Applications including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and video conferencing software.
- Good verbal and written communication skills including the ability to produce effective and clear written communications for both internal and external audiences.
- Detailed approach to work and able to work within a framework to complete tasks independently to a very high and accurate standard.
- Experience of admin and clerical and aspects of PA responsibilities in a healthcare environment is desired, however not essential.

**Please note, this is a hybrid role with travel to one of the following offices, once a week: Bristol or Totnes.**

**This is a temporary role, until 31/02/2023, with further possibility of extension.
