Trainee Advanced Neonatal Practitioner

Southampton Neonatal Unit has an exciting opportunity for a trainee Advanced Neonatal Practitioner position, working on the Neonatal Unit, Princess Anne Hospital.
Following completion of the programme, you will undertake a period of supernumerary time whilst still a band 7, you will then step up to an 8a working within an established team on the SHO tier of the medical rota as a holistic practitioner supporting both medical and nursing colleagues.
A shift system is in place which includes weekends and night shifts. You will be expected to work in all areas of the neonatal service with an opportunity to lead in specific areas.

Your continuing professional development is encouraged and you will be expected to support education programmes, clinical governance, audit, guidelines and research. Support will be given to your specific area of special interest e.g. research, special care, FIC, transport and you will be expected to participate in the wide range of educational and training opportunities within the department.
This is a clinical post designed to provide experience of provision of tertiary neonatal care, which would be suitable for an experienced neonatal nurse looking for a new opportunity to train and qualify as an ANNP.
