Dunstable, United Kingdom East of England Ambulance Service Trust Full time

We are currently looking for enthusiastic and passionate Ambulance Care Assistants to transport our patients, who are frail or need specialist assistance, to and from appointments at hospitals, treatment centres and other similar facilities.

If you have experience of caring for people with proven customer care and communication skills with the public, then we would like to hear from you

Every day is different as an ACA and you could really make a difference to our patients.

The role of the Ambulance Care Assistant involves the transportation of non-urgent patients to and from health/social care premises and private residences. This is a responsible role which requires a professional and caring attitude, as well as teamwork.

You will work in a team of two, or on your own, undertaking duties in a variety of vehicle types.

You need a full UK manual car driving licence, with one years driving experience.
(Please note that a maximum of 3 penalty points will be considered for a minor motoring offence only.)

Your role with EEAST PTS would start with a 3 week paid training course (Monday - Friday). The training involves clinical training to be a ‘First Person on Scene’, patient transport driver training, and a full uniform is provided.

During the training course it is your responsibility to attend in full, on each day. Accommodation and travel expenses will not be provided so you will need to consider the costs and travel expense of attending these venues (usually Welwyn Garden City & Barton Mills).

You MUST be able to commit to undertaking the training course as outlined above.

We deliver Patient Transport Services in Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, North and West Essex.

**Our vision is underpinned by four goals**:
Be an exceptional place to work, volunteer and learn.

Provide outstanding quality of care and performance.

Be excellent collaborators and innovators as system partners.

Be an environmentally and financially sustainable organisation.

We will aim to make the Trust a place where all who work and access our services are free from all forms of discrimination and where the diversity of our staff patients, visitors and service-users is recognised as a key driver of our success and is openly valued and celebrated.

Working for Patient Transport Services at East of England Ambulance Services NHS Trust (EEAST) you will also be eligible for the following benefits:
