Accounts Administrator

**We are looking for an experienced Accounts Administrator based in Derby.**
**We are a well-established Mechanical contractor, operating for over 35 years within the Construction industry. We operate out of modern workshops and offices in Alvaston, Derby, close to the M1, where this position would be based, we have a small team of 5 very friendly permanent office based staff plus 4 contract engineers who operate between site and office.**
**Responsibilities, as detailed below, include managing the Purchase Ledger, processing payments to sub-contractors, managing the VAT account and maintaining updated records of invoices and receipts as well as assisting the office on admin duties, you should have a Finance or Accounting background and be familiar with SAGE accounts system.**
**Responsibilities**
- Purchase Ledger_
- Data entry Purchase Ledger, approx 50 invoices per week
- Purchase Ledger reconciliation
- Payment of Suppliers, apprx 20 accounts per month
- Wages_
- Wages produced weekly via Sage payroll, 7 weekly PAYE employees
- Monthly salary produced by payroll, 9 staff PAYE employees
- Complete all monthly returns to the Inland Revenue
- Pay CIS Sub Contractors weekly
- Reconcile monthly payment to the Inland Revenue
- Bank_
- Reconcile bank on monthly basis
- Posting all monies credit/debit daily
- Recording payments
- VAT_
- Prepare Quarterly returns for the accountant
**Requirements**:
- Previous work experience as an Accounts Administrator or similar role
- Experience within the Construction & Engineering industry preferred but not essential
- Hands-on experience with SAGE accounting software
- Knowledge of Excel
This is a full time permanent position with a great salary and full time perks including annual bonus at the discretion of the directors.
**Salary**: £26,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
