**Job summary**:
This newly designed role in our organisation is to overlook the Operational delivery and Programme planning and reporting teams for our demand led products.

This exciting opportunity to help plan and deliver the interventions to enable hard to reach rural communities access to Gigabit capable broadband.

As there are two main arms to the programme this role will manage the day to day operations function including any optimisation and efficiency improvements, whilst focusing on adoption of our new funding platform system. You will act as a Subject matter expert in your operational field to drive enhancements through the programme teams insights.

The second area of focus for this role is the management of the Programme planning and delivery reporting against that plan, this include reporting to Executive boards and identifying and prioritising risks and issues while mitigating them.

As the role covers the whole lifecycle of the product deliver a strong communicator with great leadership skills is required.

**Job description**:

- Responsible for the oversight and management of Demand side Operations throughout its end-to-end lifecycle
- Oversee and lead the development and maintenance of all elements of the operational delivery strategy and approach; service levels; and end-to-end business processes
- Drive continuous improvement with particular emphasis on optimising process efficiency and resilience, creating capacity for scaling up
- Drive how demand products are contributing to the overarching programme objectives, including by monitoring relevant management information, participating in relevant governance forums and maintaining regular engagement with colleagues within the Commercial and Local Relationships & Partnering teams
- Proactively identify issues, risks and opportunities and work with the relevant BDUK function and the Product team to address them
- Responsible for the oversight and management of PMO for Demand side of Project Gigabit, throughout its end-to-end lifecycle
- Seek and coordinate strategic inputs from other BDUK teams (e.g. Commercial, Strategy) and external stakeholders in the development of programme/project design
- Oversee the production and maintenance of the Programme plans, governance and reporting, including but not limited to, senior level Boards including dashboard reporting. Whilst maintaining the management and maintenance of data quality and requests
- Proactively maintain a coherent cross programme picture of programme performance including planning, milestone reporting, monitoring delivery, finance, risks, issues, dependency management and change management processes, which enables delivery to be managed effectively
- Provide timely advice and guidance to project leads to ensure plans, reporting, risks, issues and dependencies are managed effectively and have the ability to spot warning signs
- Lead and manage a team of direct reports providing supportive leadership and professional advice across the activities set out above

- DDaT perspective: Demonstrates understanding of user-centred design, technology and data perspectives
- Operational management: Experience of managing the operational process teams
- Stakeholder management - excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to build and sustain strong relationships to support the delivery of business outcomes
